Electric Resistance Rotary Kiln

An electric resistance rotary kiln provides precise thermal processing – like drying, roasting, and calcination – through a clean, indirect heating method. Here’s how it works: electric current heats internal resistance elements, and this heat is then transferred indirectly to the rotating kiln shell and the material inside. This makes them ideal for applications where contamination from the heat source must be absolutely avoided.

✅ Electric Heating System: Uniformly surrounds the drum for superior thermal efficiency

✅ Insulated Thick-Wall Shell (300–400mm): Premium heat retention capabilities

✅ Precision Temperature Control: Enables responsive heating power adjustment

✅ Fully Sealed Furnace Design: Minimizes energy loss while enhancing operational safety

Working Principle

In an electric resistance rotary kiln, the resistance wires are installed within a sealed and insulated furnace chamber. After being energized, they generate heat, which is evenly transferred to the rotating cylinder and subsequently heats the material. With low heat loss, uniform temperature distribution, and precise control, this system is especially suitable for processing materials sensitive to temperature fluctuations.

Wide range of applications

Resistance rotary kilns are suitable for incineration, decomposition, drying, calcination and roasting of materials such as non-metallic ores, metallic ores, chemical raw materials, catalysts and agricultural wastes.Typical applicable materials include but are not limited to:

  • Molecular sieves (4A, 3A, 5A, 13X)
  • Activated carbon, catalysts, oxidizers
  • Magnesium hydroxide, magnesium chloride, basic magnesium carbonate
  • Copper oxide, copper sulfate, iron oxide, nickel oxide, ferric chloride
  • Kaolin, alum, aluminum sulfate, cast sand, limestone, barite
  • Sewage sediment, industrial waste, agricultural waste, etc.

Product Advantages

Low Failure Rate

Electric resistance heating equipment, such as that used in electric rotary kilns, typically features a relatively simple and rugged construction. This translates to low maintenance costs and ease of large-scale production and application.

Safe & Reliable Operation

Resistance heating devices in our electric rotary kilns are safety-engineered. They operate without generating open flames during the heating process, significantly reducing fire hazards.

Convenient & Precise Temperature Control

Heating temperature within an electric resistance rotary kiln is easily and precisely regulated by adjusting the electrical current magnitude or the on/off times. This facilitates accurate and stable temperature control.

High Heating Efficiency

Featuring substantial 300-400mm thick external insulation and thermal barrier shells, industrial electric rotary kilns minimize heat loss. Effectively all electrical energy is directly converted into usable heat, resulting in high thermal efficiency.

Raw material testing

We believe that real results drive real solutions. That’s why we’ve built a dedicated R&D and Testing Center where customers can run trial processing with their own materials. By observing how materials respond to actual calcination in our systems, we’re able to fine-tune every detail—from the feed setup and externally heated electric rotary kiln, to the exhaust gas treatment and final cooling and collection.

Our engineering team doesn’t just follow a formula—we configure each system to match your unique process requirements and performance goals. The result? Smarter calcination solutions that boost efficiency, meet evolving market standards, and take the guesswork out of equipment selection and production startup. When you work with us, you get more than machines—you get confidence from the very first test.
